- A library database is like a mini search engine. Some of these “databases” contain information on a specific subject; some are general in nature.
- Library databases allow users to search for magazine and journal articles on a specific topic; some databases also contain images, audio, and video files.
- Library databases may provide access to a copy of the article or item. Sometimes only a citation for an article or item is available.
- GALILEO provides access to both subject-specific and general/multidisciplinary databases.
