Edit mode allows instructors to modify items and settings within their course. Please make sure your "Edit Mode" is turned on. Sometimes this will turn off by default and you will notice that certain items are no longer visible to you. By turning edit mode on, you will be able to make edits in the course. Edit mode can be found in the upper right hand corner. The green "on" indicator lets you know edit mode is turned on.
