Underneath the "Notify me by email about these activities" you will have options for which types of notifications you would like to receive:

  • New gradable items - New gradable assignments that have been added to your course.
  • New grades and feedback* - This is a student-level notification, which you will likely only see if you have a Student Preview user saved in any course!
  • New discussion messages - New posts and replies that have been posted in discussions in your course.
  • New content added - New content items (such as files, links, etc.) that have been added to your course.
  • New and upcoming due dates - Due dates coming up or recently added in your course.
  • Past due items - Alerts for assignments that are past due in your course.
  • New courses available - New courses that have been recently assigned to your account.

Click to check or un-check the boxes to the left of these options to personalize the notifications you are e-mailed from your courses.

5. If you select "Email me right away," you will have additional options to choose what kind of notifications you are sent via e-mail for the "Discussion activity" category.
