Note: Firefox is often already set up to automatically install updates. However, you should still check for updates periodically, just in case!
To learn how to set up automatic updates in Firefox, see the guide How to Enable Automatic Updates in Firefox.
It is highly recommended that you check for updates on a regular basis - at least once every week or two.
Get in the habit of checking for updates and running any updates on a regular basis to ensure that you have no issues with accessing Blackboard or other websites!
1. Open the Firefox browser on your computer.
Then, click on the three lines in the top-right corner of the browser window, as seen in the screenshot below:

2. A menu will appear on the right-hand side of your browser window.
Near the bottom of the list, click on the "Help" option from this menu.

3. Another menu will appear on the right-hand side of the screen.
Click on the "About Firefox" option at the bottom of this shorter menu.

4. The "About Mozilla Firefox" pop-up window will appear in your browser.
This is where you can check your current version of Firefox, see if you are up to date, and install updates.
If your Firefox browser is already fully updated, you will see a notification that says "Firefox is up to date" on this page, just underneath the large Firefox Browser text near the top-center of the page.

5. If your version of Firefox is not up to date, you will see a notification that updates are being applied.
If you needed an update, wait for the update to fully download and install - it may take a little while.
The notification under the Firefox Browser text near the top-center of the page will say "Applying update," as seen in the screenshot below:

6. Once the updates have fully completed, you will be prompted to restart Firefox.
Click the "Restart to Update Firefox" button that appears near the top-center of the window to finalize the updates.
